Earlier this year, on March 1, Darrell Wallace came aboard the WEI staff as Director of Teacher Recruitment and Training. This allowed Lee Allen to focus on maintaining the teaching website and raising funds to keep this global ministry growing.

February 7, 2020 was an auspicious day in the history of the church in the Philippines. On that day, Edwin E. Vicente was baptized into Christ after studying all 22 books in the WEI curriculum.

After not traveling at all to teach or host WEI efforts in 2020, this summer has been especially meaningful. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than serving full time in this WEI Great Commission ministry.

Can you believe it? God has used WEI and WBS to plant another church in Uganda during the past three months—in the village of Buyende.
After teaching Jackson Mayanja the WBS materials, Mary McKinney began teaching him the WEI lessons in November 2019.

The leadership of the WEI ministry has observed and openly acknowledged that our singular critical path for future growth rests on our ability to recruit and train new teachers and retain our current active teachers.

Shortly after claiming over 4,000 WEI students, Jim Wagner decided to take a break from teaching online. Then, he decided to claim just a few more. He claimed 13 students because 13 has been a special number of his for years.

Only God could do what has been done in South Sudan during the past month. No human being could have pulled it all together.

How can a church fulfill its mission when it is not allowed to meet together for worship and Bible study?

Eri Boraj (pronounced “Air’ee Bore’ eye), an Albanian student studying in the United States, was baptized in Knoxville, Tennessee on February 16, 2020. This date was also his twenty-first birthday.

It is with joy that we introduce Justin Speer to you as a new member of the WEI Board of Directors. We believe Justin is a Godsend. He is a man of uncommon talent and a deep commitment to Christ and the great commission.

In the January issue of Update, William (Bill) Morgan was featured as “Mr. WEI.” That title was no exaggeration. He and his wife Mozelle have been crucial to the life of World English Institute since 1991.

God is using Gerhard Krassnig, missionary in Vienna, Austria, to reap a harvest of souls among Farsi-speaking refugees from Iran and Afghanistan.

Our last newsletter contained an exciting report from Brother Geoffrey Nyaboga along with a photo of ten people being baptized in western Kenya. In this issue, the story continues to unfold.

Back in 1989, when WEI was just a dream, I shared my vision with the church in Pleasanton, California. Bill and Mozelle Morgan were there, and they immediately caught the vision.
