In the words of the brochure printed for Bob Towell’s graveside service, Robert Henry Towell, Sr., entered into life, February 19, 1931, in Weiser, Idaho, and he entered into eternal life March 12, 2024 in Round Rock, Texas.

It is thrilling to watch God work in Nigeria. During the last quarter of 2023, Aniefiok Akpan, his wife Etang, and their crew of helpers prayed, planned, and participated in a unique evangelistic effort at the Campus Church of Christ and Rhema Christian Academy in the village of Uruk Otong.

The WEI West Coast Seminar at the Metro Church of Christ in Gresham, Oregon on September 30 and October 1, 2023 will be remembered as a high point in the history of World English Institute.

It is breath-taking to watch God work through people who are sold out to Jesus. A good example is found in the ministry of Aniefiok and Etang Akpan in Uruk Otong, Nigeria.

WEI is so blessed to partner with many missions- related ministries in the brotherhood of churches of Christ. One of those unique partnerships involves our co-sponsorship with Sunset International Bible Institute and Partners in Progress in hosting the European Vision Workshop.

Eno Damo was a teenager in 1992 when he studied the Bible with the late Donna Rae using the WEI materials. Donna was a teacher in the very first WEI team that traveled to Albania that summer.

On Monday morning, January 31, 2022, WEI lost one of its greatest champions. David and Lola Crouch have been actively involved in WEI for 26 years. During this time, they became WEI teachers, ambassadors, supporters, administrators, and awesome champions of WEI.

Arthur Tatara, WEI teacher in Papua New Guinea, recently directed the Fifth Morobe Providential Youth Camp sponsored by the Asama Church of Christ in Waria Valley.

Earlier this year, on March 1, Darrell Wallace came aboard the WEI staff as Director of Teacher Recruitment and Training. This allowed Lee Allen to focus on maintaining the teaching website and raising funds to keep this global ministry growing.

February 7, 2020 was an auspicious day in the history of the church in the Philippines. On that day, Edwin E. Vicente was baptized into Christ after studying all 22 books in the WEI curriculum.

After not traveling at all to teach or host WEI efforts in 2020, this summer has been especially meaningful. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than serving full time in this WEI Great Commission ministry.
