Michelle Goff, missionary at the East Caracas Church of Christ in Venezuela, is using WEI materials in the church’s Evangelistic English Classes.
Michelle says, “These classes have grown in size and popularity without any formal propaganda—only word of mouth invitations. If we were to run ads in the newspaper, we would be overwhelmed.”
Michelle moved to Venezuela to work with Luis and Fabiola Gomez and others in a church planting in East Caracas. She says, “Through much prayer and study, they decided that offering free English classes would be a good evangelistic tool to reach the people and show them that the church not only is looking out for their spiritual well-being, but also is offering other services based on the needs of the Venezuelans.”
“The first course was offered in January 2004 and started with 22 students. Seven of those students graduated in March 2005. Now, a new beginner’s class started, with 70 registered students.”
“May God be praised for the way He is working in East Caracas through the church and the opportunities provided by World English Institute.
“The classes have gained fame and support all over Venezuela as other churches have seen the success of this ministry and are interested in offering the same classes with the materials of WEI.”
