It has been pure joy for WEI to partner with Starfish Foundation in the most exciting and productive mission work in modern times, namely the historical restoration movement in and around Aweil, South Sudan. The Starfish Foundation was founded by two mission-minded by men in Wichita Falls, Texas, Dennis Cady and Chuck Dennis.
Chuck writes, “We [Dennis and I]partnered in 2011 to go to South Sudan. We never dreamed it would result in the phenomenal growth that has taken place. As of April 4, 2026, there had been 2,205 baptisms and 67new congregations started this year. That is on top of 7,523 baptisms and 193 congregations for the previous three years.”
When asked, “What impact has this experience had on your lives,” Chuck replied, “We humbly say for each of us, both now 80 years old who have come from humble roots, to have been a small piece of this evangelistic experience—it is pure joy.”
