Ten months ago, Edwin E. Vicente moved to Tuguegarao City, Luzon Island, hoping to find a job, to start a new WEI Learning Center, and to plant a church. His job didn’t work out, but he found fertile soil for a WEI Learning Center and good prospects for planting a church.
Living on subsistence wages, Edwin acquired the use of an unused library/storage room in a local museum–free of charge except for utilities. There, he started a new WEI Learning Center. Little by little, the word got out, and young people flocked to him to learn English and the Bible. Now, he has thirty students, and he needs eighteen more chairs, but chairs cost $22 each, and he needs help.
Two of Edwin’s students have been baptized recently: Jhunmark Jevier and Henmark Ranay. Two more are ready for baptism.
Praise God for these New Births and those to come. Special thanks to Edwin’s son-in-law Aldren Lagahit for coming all the way from San Fernando City to help Edwin with Jhunmark’s baptism.
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” – Romans 10:14
