I would like to use this column to share with you an exciting opportunity to partner with us in our WEI short-term mission ministry.
We are in the process of creating a WEI short-term mission fund that will be used to grant financial assistance to prospective WEI short-term teachers. It is not our intent to provide 100 percent of the money necessary for any individual, but rather to help en courage prospective teachers and to provide a starting point for them to begin their fund raising efforts.
This grant will be administered and regulated by a policy that defines the grant’s purpose, philosophy, and guidelines. The WEI board will be responsible for reviewing and approving all applications.
We believe that our short-term mission ministry is a responsible and effective method which fulfills the stated purpose of WEI, that is, to promote the worldwide spread of the gospel using innovative materials and techniques. The WEI short-term Bible-teaching mission is a valuable and responsible approach to missions which actively and personally involves Christians in the great commission of our Lord.
The mission of our short-term mission ministry is to teach the Bible using WEI material, to build faith in God, to lead the students to Jesus Christ, and to encourage the mission site church. We do our best to instruct and train our WEI short-term teachers to understand that they are guests and must be sensitive to the host culture. Our teachers also commit to following up by studying with their students through WEI correspondence by post or email.
Recruiting teachers from U.S. churches to go and teach in the mission fields they support is our goal. This has greatly enhanced the relationship between supporting churches and mission site Christians.
God bless you for your continued prayerful and financial support. Angela and I are humbled by your generosity and commitment to world missions. We love and appreciate you.
