Alfred Zike, Minister of the Adriatic Church of Christ in Durrës, Albania, became a Christian in 1992 after studying with Yvonne Davis in our first WEI short-term mission in Tirana. Now, he is using WEI materials to lead young people to Christ in the Adriatic Academy which meets at the church building.
Alfred writes, “Since October 2010, we have been running the fourth academic year at Adriatic Academy School, teaching free English and Bible Courses for kids of age 9-16 in the Beach Area in Durrës. This academic year, 2010-2011, we have 45 kids and teenagers enrolled in three group classes.
“We added WEI materials to our basic curriculum this year. We are very familiar with the WEI curriculum. WEI’s effectiveness in reaching Albanians for Christ is a very well known fact among the workers who have evolved in Albanian missions. We have plans to develop this academy school project from a tutoring school at present to a full curriculum school in the near future as we add more courses like math, computer, etc.
“The work done in this academy till now has blessed the Lord’s work and family at the Adriatic church. It has assisted us to develop many contacts in our evangelistic work and to have a good reputation in the community. We are very thankful to the Adams Boulevard Church of Christ in Bartlesville, OK, our main sponsor in this project.”
