Obed Anthony is a tremendous WEI teacher in Cameroon. Without any personal support from WEI, he has managed to eek out a living while teaching numerous WEI students.
Almost weekly, Bro. Anthony reports that he has baptized more students. On October 21, he said, “I write to notify you that two more souls have given their lives to Christ through the studies.”
On October 28, he sent another e-mail saying, “A seminar was organized, and three souls were baptized.” Then, he said, “We just got a call from another student who will be baptized on Sunday.
“This month, we were blessed with four souls: Aluba Favour Emmanuel, Nge Darlington, Mabel Oben, and Mafua Yvonne.”
On November 8, he wrote, “What exciting news! We have a new convert—not just anyone, but a person who was a cult member. His name is Paul Diala. We also had two other souls added yesterday: Fominka Golda and Fon Victor. Keep them in your prayers and the work of WEI in Cameroon.”
“Paul Diala belonged to a terrible, horrible cult. They used to beat, seize, and harass women. He had a bad group of friends who could even kill at times. Their eyes were horrible to look into.
My first meeting with him was in the school where he expressed dissatisfaction with the Bible. But after encouraging him to study the WEI courses to make up for his English language (which was one of the papers he failed in his exam), he accepted. That effort soon yielded fruits as he became interested, confessed his past, denounced his magical charms and acts, and was baptized.”
Obed concludes, “WEI is gradually spreading throughout the country, thanks to our students who carry the good news.”
