Jim Fox
Board Member
James Fox was born in Princeton, Kentucky. He received his BA degree from Western Kentucky University in 1967, and his law degree from the University of Memphis in 1970. His time in law school was interrupted by military service in the U.S. Army. After graduation from law school, Jim served as a law clerk to a U.S. Federal Judge and practiced law in Memphis.
Experience & Activities
From 1973 to 2000, Jim was employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority office of the General Counsel. He retired as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. He joined the board of WEI in 2003 and has made 28 mission trips to Albania. Jim has served on the boards of a number of Christian organizations. These include: Good Shepherd Counseling Center, CASA (child advocacy national organization), Tennessee Children’s Home, Hillbrooke Christian Camp, and Knoxville Christian School (KCS). He served as teacher, principal, Director of Development of KCS, and Board member, then as President from 2008-2016. Jim and his family attend the Hardin Valley Church of Christ in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has served as an elder for 23 years and has taught Bible classes for 40 years. Jim married his wife, Susan, while still in college, and they have 2 sons, Graham and Austin, and 3 grandchildren, Emma, Garrett, and Adelle.
