God has opened so many doors to WEI during the past decade that our staff can hardly keep up with opportunities. The time has come for us to broaden our base and expand the ministry.
As of January 2004, Tom Langley and his family are scheduled to return from Oradea, Romania where they have been serving as missionaries for nearly five years. At that time, Tom will join the WEI staff as Executive Vice President with a view to serving as President in the future.
Tom is almost as excited about becoming a member of the WEI team as we are thrilled to have him. Listen to his words:
“I cannot begin to express what a thrill it is to have this opportunity to serve with brother Dick Ady in a leadership capacity with the WEI ministry. When we were approached with this offer from WEI over a year ago, Angie and I both sensed that this was where God was leading us.
“We have felt very strongly for more than 12 years that WEI is one of the most effective worldwide evangelistic tools in the brotherhood. We have been involved in every aspect of the WEI ministry, and through this ministry hundreds of thousands have been introduced to the Gospel. To have this opportunity is very exciting for us, and also very humbling.
“Angie and I were first introduced to the WEI material in 1992 while serving as missionaries in Bucharest, Romania. One of Angie’s first students in Bucharest was studying the material through correspondence and brought it with him to their Bible study. Angie began helping him with WEI and immediately recognized the value and power of these lessons.
“The value is in its appeal to the worldwide desire to learn the English language. The power is in its focus on the Word of God, and in the historical sequence of God’s plan to bring man back into a right relationship with Him.
“Angie’s student, who was a proclaimed atheist, soon became a believer. Shortly after becoming a believer, he obeyed the gospel and remains faithful to this day.
“It was during that year that we caught the vision of WEI’s limitless potential as a worldwide evangelistic tool, both through correspondence and one-on-one teaching. Needless to say, we have been involved with WEI ever since.
“We are very excited about the future of WEI and are humbled at the opportunity before us. May God continue to bless the WEI ministry. To him be the glory! Amen.”
